The Blessing of the Crossed Hands
Read Genesis 48:1-20. Especially verses 11-20.
Joseph presents his two sons, Manneseh (the older) and Ephraim (the younger), before his dying father, Jacob, for his blessing (Gen. 48: 1-20). The two sons were strategically placed in front of Jacob and the rights of the “first born” is invoked. And then the Holy Spirit takes over and surprises them. Jacob crosses his hands and blesses them (Gen. 48:14). The blessing that Joseph thought belonged to Manneseh went to Ephraim when Jacob crossed his hands and blessed.
Let us learn the lesson of the crossed hands of God. God always surprises us with His choices and man continues to fuss and complain and accuse.
God will compose you when man tries to depose you. God will anoint you when man tries to disappoint you. God will choose you when man tries to accuse you. God will enlarge you when man tries to charge you. God will form a wedge whenever men allege(s). God will lift you when others try to sift you. God will lead you when others try to bleed you. God will draw you nigh when others make you cry. God will make you when others try to break you.
When God anoints – He will not disappoint.
God can see you even if you are not positioned “in the right place” now.
Do you remember how Samuel went looking for David but David was not there. What Samuel do? He waited. What was reserved for David could not be given to anyone else.
God knows where you are. No one can take your blessing. Wait for it …
